Danville is a small, quiet city in the San Ramon Valley, about 40 minutes from San Francisco. It’s known for its quaint Victorian-era downtown area, its restaurants, shops, and art galleries, and its quiet and friendly neighborhoods.

The Peasant & The Pear is an award-winning restaurant in the historic downtown that serves a classic menu with sandwiches, soups, salads, and pastries. 
Bridges Restaurant and Bar is an upscale lounge with a relaxed dining space and outdoor patio seating that serves California cuisine- this is also where they filmed some of Mrs. Doubtfire! Danville Harvest is a modern, chic eatery with sustainable farm-to-table dishes that showcase the seasonal flavors of the Bay area.

The Downtown Danville Loop is home to several locally owned and operated businesses, including restaurants, a movie theater, a coffee shop, a bank, a couple of clothing boutiques, and more. The community also has four shopping centers, including Sycamore Square, with grocery stores, boutiques, and restaurants.

Things to Do

The Danville Farmers’ Market is a weekly, year-round gathering for locals to purchase fresh produce and other local cuisines. The annual Danville Summerfest is held downtown and has fun events like a car show, live music and dance, family activities, and local food and drinks. 
Sycamore Valley Park is a beautiful space with a large play area, play fountain, pond and waterfall, jogging path, picnic areas, baseball fields, and bocce ball. The Museum of the San Ramon Valley preserves the history and heritage of Danville and showcases artifacts and educational exhibits that shaped San Ramon Valley.


San Ramon Valley Unified School District serves more than 32,000 students in kindergarten through 12th grade in Danville and surrounding communities.
