Alamo is a small, unincorporated community of Contra Costa County and an affluent suburb around 30 miles from San Francisco. It is known for its quiet suburban atmosphere and small-town charm. Alamo is a peaceful town, often overshadowed by larger neighboring communities, and is full of beautiful trails & open space, lots of outdoor activities, and the prestigious Roundhill Country Club.

Lever Coffee uses a lever press machine to brew artisan coffee in a true, time-honored tradition and offers fresh pastries baked daily. The Peasant’s Courtyard is a relaxed dining space with a quaint patio and serves up classic American and European dishes.
Alamo Café offers fresh, home-cooked dining and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Forli Restaurant and Bar is an upscale eatery serving traditional Italian meals- with a private room/ event space and beautiful paintings, it is an excellent place to host private celebrations & events!
Things to Do
There are many activities and parks to experience in Alamo. Round Hill Country Club is an exclusive club with private residences and an abundance of amenities, including an aquatics and fitness center, upscale dining, an 18-hole golf course, event space, and full-service staff. The Autos of Alamo Festival is an annual event that showcases classic, antique, hot rods, and custom cars and has live music, vendors, local cuisine, and more.
Las Trampas Wilderness Regional Preserve is more than 5,500 acres of rugged area that has hiking, horseback riding, and biking trails, as well as picnic areas and camping. Diablo Foothills Regional Park is a connection to Mt. Diablo State Park and Walnut Creek Open Space. The foothills park is more than 1,000 acres with diverse topography and scenic views. The park offers biking, hiking, horseback riding trails, and wildlife such as mules, deer, bobcats, rabbits, and more.
Schools
San Ramon Valley Unified School District has 36 schools that serve more than 32,000 students in kindergarten through high school in Alamo and surrounding communities. The district has rigorous standards focusing on essential academic courses and sub-courses like technology, language, health, and performing arts. It is a top-performing California district with a 94% college acceptance rate.
